Ensure's XyLoc Enterprise to Facilitate and Manage Large Enterprise Deployments of HID PC Access Control; HID Building Access Technology Now Integrated into New XyLoc KeyCards

Ann Arbor, Mich., May 6, 2002— Ensure Technologies, the award-winning leader in intelligent digital information security solutions, and HID Corporation, the industry leader in card access technology, today announced the forming of a technology integration alliance. Through this alliance, Ensure's XyLoc™ Enterprise PC security software now facilitates and manages large enterprise and geographically dispersed deployments of HID's pcProx™ PC access control solutions. Additionally, a new version of Ensure's XyLoc KeyCard incorporates HID's building access technology, bringing XyLoc's patented full-time PC access control and building security together in a single solution. This allows both HID and Ensure to offer their customers the widest range of convenience and security for protecting both organizations' facilities and valuable digital information.

XyLoc Enterprise for HID pcProx

XyLoc Enterprise is a robust, browser-based architecture that allows security managers to easily administer and centrally manage convenient security throughout an enterprise. XyLoc Enterprise software now enables HID pcProx administrators to manage enterprise-wide and even geographically diverse deployments. Using XyLoc Enterprise, an authorized administrator can control users' access rights on any HID-protected computer, even remotely across the Internet.

XyLoc Enterprise also simplifies the management of large-scale XyLoc and HID pcProx implementations. Administrators can access, update, maintain and audit all aspects of XyLoc and pcProx systems from any PC with a VPN or Internet connection. The XyLoc Enterprise software is compatible with the pcProx reader and supports all HID proximity cards. XyLoc Enterprise enables administrators to:

• Create secured kiosk accounts for fast user access in a shared workstation environment (e.g., nurses in a hospital).
• Reduce passwords with Single Sign On feature that enables users to login to their applications with a single password and their HID proximity card or XyLoc KeyCard.
• Create new users and issue new HID proximity cards and XyLoc KeyCards.
• Create user groups (like "Engineering" or "Human Resources") with the same log-on requirements and access privileges.
• Disable HID proximity cards and XyLoc Keys in the case of loss, theft or termination of employment.
• Print detailed audit logs of user activity and the operation of XyLoc Enterprise itself.

New XyLoc KeyCard

Ensure has also integrated HID's proximity building access technology into a new version of its XyLoc KeyCard. This enables XyLoc users to use their XyLoc KeyCards to provide full-time access control for their PCs and building access as well. XyLoc offers full-time access control and proximity authentication to protect sensitive data when it is most vulnerable: after logon, when the authorized user steps away from the PC for any reason. Unlike other security technologies, XyLoc takes an innovative approach to user compliance by requiring little or no action on the part of the user. With XyLoc, users are recognized based on their proximity to the PC and the computer is unlocked only after it has identified and authenticated them. Users wear unique XyLoc KeyCards that communicate securely with proximity detection hardware and sophisticated software residing on each workstation.

XyLoc Enterprise with support for HID's pcProx and XyLoc KeyCards incorporating HID's proximity card technology are available immediately from Ensure and HID.
