award-winning leader in intelligent PC security solutions,
today announced that the United States Patent and Trademark
Office has issued patent number #6,070,240 for its wireless

transceivers to automatically detect the presence or absence
of authorized users to grant or deny access to computer
systems; and

Access Control: using RF or infrared transceivers
to constantly monitor for the continued presence of authorized
users.
"It's
great to be issued the patent number for the differentiating
strengths of XyLoc," said Dr. Thomas Xydis, chief technologist

that XyLoc has received in the industry. XyLoc's advantages
of convenience and personalization offers organizations a
PC security solution that gives users clear benefits and dramatically
increases compliance with security policies."

XyLoc
is a centrally managed automatic computer security solution
that prevents unauthorized access to confidential company
data, and simultaneously makes access to network services
and business applications more convenient for authorized employees.
XyLoc's unique, full-time access control technology protects
confidential data when it is most vulnerable - after logon,
when the authorized user - for whatever reason - steps away
from the PC. Additionally, XyLoc simplifies implementation
of public key infrastructure (PKI) by securing access to digital
certificates and ensuring that they are protected from unauthorized
use.

Suited
for professionals who need easy, yet secure, access to information
"on the fly," XyLoc is proximity-activated and completely
"hands-free," requiring no user interaction. Because it enables
the computer to know automatically and effortlessly who is
requesting access to its resources, XyLoc offers security
features and flexibility previously unavailable. Additionally,
XyLoc easily integrates with and enhances the effectiveness
of other security technologies, like biometrics or tokens.
Other benefits include:
- Convenience
- an authorized user approaching the PC is automatically
logged on to all appropriate services.
-
Total Security
- the best and only way to actually guarantee that the person
using the computer is, and continues to be at all times,
the authorized user.
- Robust
Management Tools - event logs and audit trails are
provided automatically, detailing a history of PC usage
for effective security monitoring.
