ENSURE
TO SHOWCASE IBM BLUETOOTH THINKPAD WITH XYLOC SECURITY
APPLICATION AT CEBIT
Ensure's
XyLoc Bluetooth Wireless Security to Automatically
and Easily Secure IBM's ThinkPad Notebook Computer
CeBIT,
Hannover, Germany, March 20, 2001—
Ensure Technologies, the award-winning leader in intelligent
wireless PC security solutions, this week will collaborate
with IBM to showcase and demonstrate one of the first Bluetooth
applications at Ensure's stand in the Bluetooth Exchange
Pavilion at CeBIT, Hannover, Germany, March 22-28, 2001,
Bluetooth Pavilion, Hall 1, Stand 5d 4, and in
IBM's booth in Hall 1, Stand 4g 2. The companies will
highlight Ensure's XyLoc Bluetooth wireless security
and authentication solution securing and protecting access
to an IBM ThinkPad® notebook with a Bluetooth PC
Card from IBM.
"If
past experience is any indication, we're expecting a great
response to this application from CeBIT attendees," said
Howard Dulany, wireless program manager at IBM's Personal
Computing Division. "Today's mobile users are increasingly
vigilant over the safety of their data. We're combining the
best mobile computing platform with easy and convenient security
using the Bluetooth standard to ease those concerns
and to allow users to focus on their work."
"It
is most rewarding to team with IBM to demonstrate a powerful
and compelling Bluetooth solution this week at CeBIT,"
said George Brostoff, president of Ensure Technologies. "By
leveraging the forthcoming ubiquity of the Bluetooth
standard, we're offering substantial and needed benefits to
users: convenient security and personalization of mobile computing
devices like the ThinkPad."
IBM is a promoter company and Ensure is an associate member
of the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (www.bluetooth.com),
a group working toward a wireless technology specification
that provides links between mobile computers, mobile phones
and other portable and handheld devices, and connectivity
to the Internet. The Bluetooth wireless technology
is a small form-factor, low-cost radio solution that is set
to revolutionize the personal connectivity market by providing
freedom from wired connections.
XyLoc
is a robust personalization and security application for Bluetooth
wireless devices like IBM's ThinkPad. As more Bluetooth
devices come to market, security is essential to protect them
from unauthorized access. Using XyLoc's patented technology,
network managers can easily load and manage digital certificates
on any Bluetooth PC, phone or PDA, which adds powerful
security features to Bluetooth devices and appliances.
XyLoc will allow Bluetooth devices to positively recognize
and identify authorized users and make Bluetooth phones
and PDAs more convenient to use.
XyLoc
is a patented, centrally managed, automatic computer security
solution that prevents unauthorized access to confidential
PC-based information, and simultaneously makes access to network
services and applications more convenient for authorized employees.
XyLoc's full-time access control technology protects sensitive
data when it is most vulnerable - after logon, when the authorized
user - for whatever reason - steps away from the PC. XyLoc
is proximity-activated and completely "hands-free," requiring
no user interaction. By automatically and effortlessly recognizing
who is requesting access to a PC, XyLoc simplifies PKI implementations
and protects digital certificates stored on PCs increasing
the security of e-commerce transactions.
