YPSILANTI, MI - September 21, 2009 – Ensure Technologies, the leading provider of
active RF proximity-based authentication solutions, announces the release of its XyLoc Client
9.0 and XyLoc Security Server 5.0 software. This software applies to all new orders effective
immediately, and is available on an FTP site for download to customers on existing software
maintenance agreements.
XyLoc Client 9.0 software includes the following enhancements:
-
XyView Client, a
diagnostic dashboard stand-alone utility
used to facilitate initial XyLoc setup
-
Improved algorithm for locking and unlocking of the
client workstation
-
A configurable “Delay Lock” algorithm that
accommodates workflows where the user needs to view the screen
from a greater distance from the workstation
-
Secure unlock/lock functionality and audit log for
both Passive RF and Active RF proximity devices
-
When used with Citrix® Password Manager Hot Desktop,
the updated version allows fast-user-switching with fewer keystrokes

Support for UPEK® fingerprint readers, as a
second-factor authentication (this is in addition to existing support
for AuthenTec® and Digital Persona® fingerprint readers)
-
Increased display for up to 10 usernames of active
RF badges detected in the range of a locked workstation
-
Enhanced Microsoft® RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol)
support
XyLoc Client 9.0 software runs on Windows® XP and Windows XP Embedded (XPe) operating systems
and supports Citrix XenAppTM environments. A separate release for Windows Vista and Windows 7
is scheduled for release fourth quarter.
The XyLoc Security Server (XSS) 5.0 adds support for Microsoft Server 2008 and SQL 2008. New features
in this version include the support for multiple types of fingerprint readers within an enterprise
and support for the “Delay Lock” feature so that it may be configured by groups of users or
workstations.
XSS (formerly known as XyLoc MD) is a web-based server application for central control and management
of the XyLoc system throughout the enterprise. IT managers can easily implement and administer XyLoc
across multiple segments of their network(s). XSS supports account information stored in a Microsoft
SQL Server database or in Active Directory via Schema Extension, along with a user activity log
written to a Microsoft SQL Server database. XSS allows for the configuration of groups by user or by
workstation and supports “unique user accounts” as well as “kiosk accounts”. Kiosk accounts are often
preferred in a multi-user, shared workstation environment typical of the healthcare industry.
